This wardrobe plot indicates our interpretation of the costume needs of the production. It is intended to provide you with required costume changes and a feeling of the costume styles. Costumes outlined are in standard adult sizes-extremely large or small sizes may not be available. Also, specific colors and fabrics are not described due to new designs and availability in our stock (except where noted). Styles and accessories may vary.

ACT I: (September afternoon, Early 1940’s)

Abbey: Victorian tea dress

Dr. Harper: Black suit, clerical collar, hat

Teddy:

1. Cutaway coat, striped pants, vest, tie, shirt, gloves, spats
2. Khaki jacket, shirt, pants, pith helmet

Klein & Brophy: Double-breasted period police jacket, pants, badge, hat, nightstick

Martha: Victorian high-collared housedress, shawl, hat

Elaine: 1940’s dressy dress, hat, stole, gloves, purse

Mortimer: Dark Period suit, tie shirt, hat

Mr. Gibbs: Period suit, shirt, tie

Jonathan & Einstein: Ill‐fitting rumpled dark suit, shirt, tie, hat

ACT II: (Later that night)

Jonathan, Abby, Martha, Teddy, and Mortimer: No change

Einstein: No change - Add pith helmet

Elaine: Nightgown and Negligee

Abby & Martha: Mourning dresses w/accessories (Martha w/high collar)

O’Hara: Double-breasted period police jacket, pants, badge, hat, nightstick

ACT III: (Still later that night)

Martha, Abby, Einstein, Jonathan, Teddy, Mortimer, O’Hara, Brophy, Klein: No change

Rooney: Period police uniform as others w/ Lieutenant Stripes

Elaine: Period suit, blouse, hat, gloves

Mr. Witherspoon: Period suit, shirt, tie, hat
